The electrical engineer is responsible for the design, development and maintenance of the company’s technology as it pertains to the electrical space. He or she will be responsible for a large scope of technology, from board level components to high power conduction. The electrical engineer will require a high degree of self-management. The electrical engineer will interface with other disciplines, including mechanical, software, firmware, manufacturing and quality. The electrical engineer will report directly to the Director of Engineering.

    Specifically, the ideal candidate would have:

    • BS degree in Electrical Engineering and 3+ years experience or equivalent
    • Experience with soldering (through hole and surface mount)
    • Proficient in PCB design and debugging using Altium
    • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
      • Job responsibilities include:

        • Digital design centered around microcontrollers and associated interfaces
        • Analog design for signal conditioning of low frequency sensor data
        • High power / high voltage design using triacs, mosfets, and relays with a focus on thermal management and safety
        • Generation of files and support packages for PCBA manufacturing and test
        • Maintenance of existing product electronics packages
        • Development of in-house electronics for lab use
        • Analyzing and presenting performance data to other teams and management

    The engineering technician is responsible for engineering test support in the design and development of the company’s product and technology. He or she will be responsible for a broad array of tests, from research and developmental testing to full-scale product level validation testing. The engineering technician will require a high degree of self-management. The engineering technician reports directly to the Lab Operations Engineer.

      The ideal candidate would have:

      • Associate degree and 2+ years of related experience, or, completion of formal technical training and 3+ years of related experience
      • Experience with electrical and nonelectrical laboratory equipment
      • Experience with hardware testing
      • Excellent data collection and record keeping skills
      • Excellent collaboration, partnering, and communication skills
      • Ability to accurately interpret written and verbally-communicated procedures
      • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
      • Knowledge in the IoT space
      • Experience in the electronics industry
        • Job responsibilities include:

          • Plan, set up, and undertake controlled experiments and trials in conjunction and support of engineering

He or she will be responsible for a broad scope of technology, from mechanical design to advanced analysis, including stress, flow, heat transfer, etc. The mechanical engineer will interface with other disciplines, including electrical, software, firmware, manufacturing and quality. The mechanical engineer will report to the director of engineering.

      Specifically, the ideal candidate would have:

      • BS degree in Engineering and 3+ years experience or equivalent
      • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
      • Proficiency with SolidWorks
      • Experience with analysis, including: heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and stress analysis
      • Experience with analytic tools, including FEA, CFD, etc.

    Heatworks often partners with companies to create new products or improve their existing ones using Heatworks’ patented heating technology. That process will usually involve some form of collaboration to develop prototypes to prove the performance requirements, develop the overall value proposition, then to proceed to a manufactured product. This requires solid program management leadership by Heatworks, and collaboration with cross functional teams from Heatworks, customer, and possibly external sources. The purpose of a Program Manager is to effectively ensure the execution of multiple products under development according to the released product life cycle/phase review process from program approval release through volume production.     Heatworks Technologies Inc. is looking for an experienced software developer in the Charleston area who can contribute to a growing ecosystem of internal applications including dashboards, IoT management, and a fully modular data acquisition system. Responsibilities include developing, maintaining, and testing the code.
